AdSectator collects very little, because it doesn't need much to be a reading website. Here's a plain account of what happens when you visit.
What's collected
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare logs standard web-server request data, things like IP address, browser type, and the page requested, for security and reliability, the same way any web host does. AdSectator does not run its own tracking pixels, and does not sell, rent, or share visitor data with anyone, because there's no visitor data collected here beyond that host-level logging.
Cookies
This site does not set its own cookies. Embedded YouTube video on an article page may set cookies from YouTube once you interact with the player; that's governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one.
Analytics
If AdSectator adds privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics in the future (traffic counts, not individual tracking), this page will say so before it happens, not after.
Search Console
I use Google Search Console to see how this site shows up in Google search, such as which searches bring people here and which pages appear. It reports on search results, not on what you do on the site, and it doesn't place anything in your browser.
Newsletter signup
The newsletter form at /newsletter/ is the one place this site collects anything, and it is the exception to any line on this page that says the site collects nothing. If you use it, I store your email address, which site you signed up on, the time, the wording of the consent you saw, your country, your IP address and your browser type. That record lives in a database at Cloudflare. I keep it because Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) means I have to be able to show that you asked to hear from me. To check that you're a person, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a short check in your browser. I use your address only to send this site's newsletter, and I don't sell it or share it. Every message will have an unsubscribe link, and you can ask me at hello@adsectator.com to delete your address and the record at any time.
If you email hello@adsectator.com, that message and your address are used only to reply to you. Nothing you send is added to a mailing list without you asking for that separately.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page will update and, for any material change, it'll be noted plainly rather than quietly.
